A Family Getaway to Anantya Resort: Nature, Relaxation, and Lots of Fun
Discover the magic of Anantya Resort nestled amidst rubber plantations and Chittar Lake. A perfect family getaway with serene views, luxury rooms, and unforgettable experiences.
You know that feeling when you finally take a break and find yourself in the middle of absolute paradise? That’s exactly what happened when my sister and I decided to spend two nights and three days at Anantya Resort in October'24 with our families.
# Getting There in Style
We kicked off our trip with my brother-in-law (BIL) chauffeuring us in his majestic ScorpioN. The drive was smooth, and the roads leading to the resort were a breeze. When we arrived around 2 PM, the staff welcomed us with a delicious meal that set the tone for the rest of the trip. And the Kerala ada payasam? Oh, that dessert deserves its own fan club!
# A Room with a View (or a Jacuzzi!)
Anantya Resort is nestled in a sprawling 1,000-acre rubber plantation and surrounded by the serene Chittar Lake and Western Ghats. Every morning, we woke up to breathtaking views of the mountains, lake, and lush greenery—it felt like living in a painting!
The rooms? Pure luxury with a touch of old Tamil charm. We opted for a jacuzzi room and my sister picked up one with a pool overlooking the lake. Both were spacious, beautifully decorated, and perfect for unwinding.
# Sunset Swims and Starry Nights
By 4 PM, we were ready for the pool. And this wasn’t just any pool—it felt like an infinity pool that melted into the horizon of the lake. It was mesmerizing. Jerry (my younger son) was practically a fish, refusing to leave the water until the pool closed at 7 PM.
Dinner that evening was equally delightful, filled with laughter and plans for the next day.
# Sunrise and Cycling Adventures
The next morning, we were up bright and early—6:09 AM, to be exact—to catch the sunrise by the lake. Watching the first rays of sunlight kiss the mountains and reflect on the lake was a moment I’ll never forget.
The resort is dotted with trees and plants, making it a great place for cycling. We pedaled around, soaking in the fresh air before heading to breakfast.
# Exploring the Rubber Plantation
Here’s where things got really interesting. We embarked on a plantation drive (a must-do experience!) to explore the rubber plantation. Our guide, Adarsh, shared fascinating stories—his father worked on a rubber plantation, so he knew all the ins and outs.
We learned that it takes about seven years for a rubber tree to start producing and that these trees can be tapped for up to 45 years. Watching the workers collect the rubber milk was fascinating. They skillfully cut the bark in semicircles, allowing the sap to flow into pots.
Inside the plantation, there’s a factory where they process the rubber into sheets of varying quality. Seeing this process up close was a first for all of us and left us in awe of the effort that goes into something as simple as rubber.
# Poolside Fun and Lake Strolls
After the plantation tour, we couldn’t resist another dip in the pool. This time, we took plenty of photos to capture the memories. Later, we wandered down to the lake, where a charming swing added to the serene atmosphere.
# The Perfect Goodbye
On our final morning, we enjoyed another hearty breakfast before packing up. None of us wanted to leave, but we left with our hearts full and minds refreshed.
We’re already planning our next visit. Me for the food, Jerry for the pool, wife for the view.
